CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL

Uno de los primeros acetatos que se compró en casa, por mi hermano mayor, fue el primer long play de CCR, un grupo musical icono de la música swamp rock. Y casi todas sus canciones fueron éxitos en su momento, en este pequeño territorio nacional.  El grupo, compuesto por los hermanos Fogertty, John y Tom, y de Stu Cook y Doug Clifford, tuvo una trayectoria muy corta, pero significativa. Su sonido es singular y es difícil no reconocer su ritmo y melodía al oirlos.

Primera banda de lo que sería CCR

Tom, John y Doug formaron la primera agrupación de lo que se tornaría CCR, llamada Blue Velvets. Luego, formaron la llamada banda The Golliwogs. El sonido CCR, Swamp Rock, todavía no se asomaba.

The Golliwogs-Tell me

Basta oír Tell me, de The Golliwogs para identificar la voz de John Fogerty, pero no su típico ritmo.

En lo personal no se cual canción me gusta más. Proud Mary, probablemente, es su mejor canción. Aunque mucha gente piensa que es de Tina Turner, pues también con ella fue un éxito comercial, cantada con una fuerza y potencia tremenda. 

Podría recomendar de todas, todas. Pero la que me parece fabulosa y que, me parece, refleja toda una época, es FORTUNATE SON:
